Hilong is Commended by Proprietor for Its First Offshore Pipeline Installation Project

          Date 2015-09-23

(September 23, 2015, Shanghai) Recently Hilong’s first offshore pipeline installation project - the offshore pipeline construction works of the CNOOC East China Sea Project - went through the official final examination by the proprietor and third parties, fulfilling all the requirements, after its successful completion of the follow-up works of offshore pipe-laying. The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance of the project, engineering quality and construction efficiency were highly commended by CNOOC.

Since winning the bid at the end of 2014, Hilong has successively finished the on-land prefabrication of a double section pipe, consisting of an 8.3-kilometer long, 8-inch wide section and a 30.3- kilometer long, 10-inch wide section, and its offshore laying, offshore installation of its expansion loop and other tasks such as pipe cleaning, bore gauging and pressure testing, 10 days ahead of schedule.

During the construction, Hilong successfully carried out such world-class projects that require high technology and high standards, as composite pipe welding, China’s first installation of insulated pipes, saturation diving operations and round-the-clock monitoring by the Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV). Hilong also set the domestic record high by welding 61 double-joints on an 8-inch composite pipe per day.

Xiao Long, Vice President of Hilong Group and General Manager of Hilong Petroleum Offshore EMarine Engineering Co., Ltd. said, “Hilong proved itself in this project through its extraordinary capacity in the design, construction and integrated service of maritime engineering. Meanwhile, a large number of technical and managerial talents for maritime engineering, procurement and construction nurtured in this project will further promote the vigorous development of Hilong’s maritime engineering cause.”
