(December 20, 2016) Several days ago, Hilong Group successfully completed a batch of rectangular pipes inner coatings in the contracted external supporting projects for Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KOC). This is the first time that KOC production licensing has been awarded for Chinese production of the same type of products.
This batch of rectangular fitting inner coatings totaled 480 pieces, covering four shaped specifications, as processed and produced by Hilong subsidiary Sichuan Hilong Petroleum Technology Co., Ltd. (Sichuan Hilong). In order to meet KOC production licensing requirements, Sichuan Hilong, with support from the Group and the Pipe Technology and Services Business, carried out technological breakthrough of production process and production equipment, completing PQT comprehensive quality audit certification through KOC and signing the first batch of contracts this past September.

“The structure of such rectangular pipes is complicated, and inner coating production is difficult. Prior to this, there have been no reports of domestic workpiece inner coating technology as sophisticated as this,” said Hilong Petroleum Tubular Goods Research Institute Director Bai Xueming, adding that “having been awarded KOC production licensing and having successfully completed this project is yet another achievement of Hilong Group’s technological innovation and internationalization strategy as well as the crystallization of long-term contact and collaboration between Hilong and KOC. This project will lay the foundation for Hilong pipeline anti-corrosion products business’s further exploration of the Kuwaiti market.”
Currently, Hilong has already produced many batches of supporting products with a variety of specifications for rectangular pipe inner coating production of domestic ground collective transmission pipeline using this technology, conducive to promoting the popularization and application of domestic ground collective transmission inner coating pipeline products.
